Notes on files in this collected data set on NGC 1851 (ACL)

n1851.pdf -- PDF copy of the article accepted by PASP (2010 June 28).

n1851.fits -- Image built with MONTAGE as described in the text.
The XY coordinates in the accompanying data files correspond to
those in this image.

daomaster_vbri_b.std_publxy -- Contains the photometry for 5841 stars
brighter than V~20 mag. The ID corresponds to the variable star
numbers discussed in the text, and the XY coordinates correspond
to those in n1851.fits.

varstd.all_vars -- Time series data from Table 1 of the text.

newvars_dra_ddec.dat -- Data file containing positions of the variable
stars in the X,Y coordinates of the image n1851.fits (cols 1 & 2), and
in arcsec E/W and N/S of the cluster center, in arcseconds (cols 3 &
4, following the definitions of Clement et al 2001).

layden_fig1.eps -- Identical to Fig.1 of the published paper.

layden_fig3.eps -- larger light and color curves for V9 and V54 (#38).
The light curve magnitudes are coded as B (triangles), V (circles), R'
(crosses), and I (squares). The color curve symbols are V-R'
(circles), B-V (triangles), and V-I (squares).

layden_fig4.eps -- Light and color curves for the stars ID#22 (left),
a suspected variable, and ID#29 (right). The symbols are as in
layden_fig3.eps.

layden_fig5.eps -- Light and color curves for the LPV star V24 = ID#31
(left). In the right panel, our B data (large triangles) are folded
with a period of 183 days, and are shown with the folded photographic
data of Wehlau (1982), whose data were acquired during five observing
runs: 1972 (circles), 1974/1 (open triangles), 1974/10 (crosses), 1975
(stars), 1980 (filled triangles). The two mean points from Stetson's
(1981) photoelectric photometry are shown as asterisks in both panels.
They are correctly phased with the Wehlau data in the right panel, but
were placed at a convenient time in the left panel.

layden_fig6.eps -- A larger version of Fig.4 in the published paper.

n1851_2mass_jk.eps -- CMD in 2MASS JK for all stars within 4.0 arcmin
of the cluster center that have good ph_qual values. Open circles
have ph_qual=A in both J and K bandpasses; crosses have ph_qual=B or C
in one or both of the J & K bandpasses. The LPVS V9, V24, V54 and V55
are marked with filled circles (as is V2=V51=#207), while filled
triangles mark the suspected variables (#26 was not found in the 2MASS
data due to crowding, while the anomalously blue SVs, #33 and #34, had
ph_qual=U in the J bandpass, so should not be trusted).

n1851_2mass_jhk.dat -- data downladed from 2MASS to make the .eps
plot.
