Access Control


The OutBox pages and documents published on this system can be viewed by any user with network access to the system. This page describes how to use the Netscape Web server's Access Control features to regulate access to the OutBox pages.

Opening the Netscape Administration Server

The simplest way to set up access controls is to use the Netscape Administration Server. Click the link below to display the Netscape Administration Server.

Open the Netscape Administration Server.

When you click this link, you may be asked for a user name and password before you can proceed.

Controlling Access to OutBox Pages

To set up access controls for an OutBox page or published document:

  1. Open the Netscape Administration Server.
  2. Click the Access Control button on the toolbar at the top of the server page.
  3. Click Restrict Access, found on the left of the Access Control page.
  4. Click the Wildcard button on the Restrict Access page.
  5. In the Wildcard window, enter the file path or paths to the OutBox page. (The file paths for OutBox pages are shown below in Table 1.)
  6. The current access control status for the page is now displayed. Use the various features of the Restrict Access page to change the access controls and save the changes.

The table below describes the OutBox pages that can be protected. For each page, one or more file paths are shown. Use the Netscape Administration Server to control access to the page. All of the paths shown for a particular page must be protected.
