OSCILLATOR REVIEW

ANALYSIS

1.  Select Sheet 1. On the plot of the position vs. time data, place the cursor on one of the maxima of the curve. Record the time value (abcissa) for this point in cell F19.

2.  Go to the next maximum on the curve, and record the time value (abcissa) for this point in cell G19.

3.  Take the difference between the two values and record the result in cell D20, as the Measured Period, T. This value can be compared to the calculated (theoretical) value in cell D18.

4.  Next, use the amplitude value in cell F24 and the formulas below to determine the maximum velocity and the maximum acceleration. Record these results in cells G26 and G28, respectively. These values can be compared to the values in cells F26 and F28.

5.  Repeat steps 1 through 4 for Sheets 2 and 3.

6.  Turn in your completed Spreadsheet to the lab instructor.
