Unlike where I
was raised in the Midwest, Gainesville never has a white Christmas, at least
as far back as 1961 which is as far back as the records I found went. Unfortunately,
December does not mean the end of the rain either, which is almost perpetual.
On the up side, the plants are still green, and there's never any ice that needs scraping off of the cars, or side walks that need shoveling. Does Santa use pontoons when he gets this far south? |
|
See, there's still lots of green. Some
of the trees go dormant, but some wait until February and then loose their
leaves and get new ones all within a week or two. |

According to the header written to this image by the camera,
this was taken at 1:36pm. "The Sun Shine State" indeed ... |

But its nice and cheery inside. |

"And the stockings
were hung by the" ... uuhhh ... "candles with care in hopes that ..."

Its the astronomer-ghost of 2002! |

My brother Doug
prepares a Christmas feast. |

Doug inspects
the Christmas tree for verticality. With a degree in fire fighting and
an EMT certificate, he's a stickler for safety. ;> |
|
I don't remember singing carols. Just what did he put in that
Christmas feast?! I'm not sure if this image is blurry or if we were blurry. And speaking of technical details, who took this picture!?!? A little too much Christmas cheer, perhaps? |

Doug
opens his "Kick Ass" Christmas present! |
|
I showcase my presents as the "Christmas Cheer" begins to wear off ... (click
on the image to get the bigger one and look at my face ;> ). |

Aaaaahhhh!!!! Christmas Mayhem .......... |
