Here is the reason that tornados and hurricanes do so much damage. The high winds create very low localized pressures that can literally cause buildings to explode. The next time you see TV footage of the aftermath of a tornado, think of Bernoulli’s equation.
I apologize for this simplistic picture of a house. This one looks a lot like one my grandparents had about 40 yards behind their main house when I was very young; they didn’t live in it, but did visit it a few times every day. (No, P in is not supposed to be a pun!)
