Coulomb’s Law was crucial in the discovery of atomic structure. Danish physicist Niels Bohr, around 1915, used Coulomb’s Law to make his breakthrough understanding of the structure of the atom as being like a little solar system with an electrically attractive center (the nucleus) with smaller electrons in orbit around it.
