In a previous lecture talked about mechanical equilibrium as a state in which an object does not accelerate (has constant velocity). If an object is large and rigid, equilibrium means more than zero acceleration -- it means no rotational acceleration. This lecture extends the concept of equilibrium to include rotational equilibrium as well as the translational equilibrium we considered earlier.
